Reduction of Air Pollution/Greenhouse Gas Emissions
To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, we operate our vessels in an environmentally friendly manner by operating at reduced speeds and using low-sulfur fuel oil that complies with ISO 8217 standards. Greenhouse gas emissions are monitored annually through our Sustainability Report.

Compliance with Environmental Regulations
By complying with the strict environmental regulations of the U.S., we have stayed ahead of global regulations. In particular, we introduced ballast water treatment systems earlier than the regulations came into effect, thereby helping to protect the marine environment. We also contribute to global marine environmental conservation by providing maintenance services for ballast water treatment systems, not only for our own vessels, but also for other companies' vessels.

Cargo Transportation Focusing on Non-dangerous Goods
We transport mainly non-dangerous cargoes, taking into consideration the impact on the ocean caused by the discharge of hold washing water after transportation and the impact on the human body of crew members and port personnel.
Cargo Transportation to Developing Countries
By transporting cargo to developing countries, we contribute to the stability of the food situation, etc.
Recycling of waste generated from business activities at the head office building (DOWA LINE Building)
We report the recycling rate to Minato Ward, where our head office is located, and monitor the recycling rate to keep it at a high level.
Environmental conservation through management and operation of owned real estate (DLX Building, Dowa Line Building)
Contributing to urban development by an office building operated on 100% renewable energy and equipped with a disaster prevention warehouse that can be utilized for the benefit of the community. In November 2018, the building received the Minato Ward Landscape Urban Development Award. The building is also equipped with a natural ventilation system suitable for the prevention of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Preparation of Sustainability Report
We will prepare and publish a Sustainability Report from FY2021 and monitor whether SDGs activities are being implemented appropriately.
Dissemination and promotion of SDGs to business partners
In order to strengthen cooperation for the dissemination and promotion of the SDGs, we will conclude cooperation agreements with our business partners and implement SDG-oriented corporate activities.
